The Yule Owl — Watcher of the Longest Night

High amongst the snow-covered evergreens, beneath the glow of the winter moon, the Yule Owl keeps her silent watch.

Around her, the woodland has grown still.
The branches bow beneath their covering of snow, tiny winter berries bring colour to the darkness, and the creatures of the forest have retreated into the safety of their hidden places.

But the owl remains.

Owls have long been associated with wisdom, intuition and the ability to see what others cannot. Where we may see only darkness, the owl knows there is still a path.

At Yule, when we reach the longest night of the year, she reminds us that darkness is not an ending.

Sometimes it is simply the place where we become quiet enough to listen.
A place to rest, to reflect and to trust the wisdom we carry within us.
For even on the longest night, the moon still shines.
And somewhere beyond the darkness, the first returning light is already waiting.

May you trust what you know in the quiet.
May wisdom guide you through the darkness.
And may you always remember that the light will return.
