Home is more than the place where we live.

Within the shelter of an ancient courtyard walks Bastet — The Keeper of the Sacred Home.

In ancient Egyptian tradition, Bastet became closely associated with protection, the home, women, music and celebration, and is perhaps most recognisable today through her connection with cats. She carries a beautiful duality: gentle and nurturing towards those within her care, yet fiercely protective when that sanctuary is threatened.

Here, Bastet walks quietly through her sacred space, surrounded by the cats who have become such an enduring part of her story.

They sit upon ancient stone, weave around her feet and watch from the shadows — independent and peaceful, yet always alert to the world around them.

This is not a place that needs walls built from fear.
It is a sanctuary.

Flowers tumble over weathered stone, golden details catch the light and beyond the courtyard the night sky stretches into the distance. At its heart stands an open doorway — an invitation into the place where we can finally put down what we have carried and simply belong.

Bastet reminds us that protecting our peace is not selfish.

There is sacredness in creating a home that feels safe.

In choosing carefully who we invite across its threshold.

In filling our surroundings with the people, animals, objects and memories that bring us comfort.

And in recognising that sometimes the most powerful boundary is simply knowing what deserves access to us and what does not.

Her cats embody that wisdom beautifully. They can be affectionate without surrendering their independence, curious without losing their caution, and deeply content within the places they have chosen as their own.

The Keeper of the Sacred Home invites us to create that same sanctuary within ourselves.
A place where we do not need to perform.
Where our guard can soften.
Where we are loved without condition.
Where we can rest.

Because home is not only somewhere we return to at the end of the day.
