The Keeper of Ravens

Some guardians announce their presence with light.
Others arrive on silent wings.

The Morrígan has long been honoured in Celtic mythology as a goddess of prophecy, courage and transformation. Often accompanied by ravens, she is not a bringer of fear, but a guardian of change, standing beside us when life asks us to release the old and step courageously into the unknown.

Across the windswept heather, beneath a moonlit sky, she walks among the ancient standing stones where the veil between worlds feels thin. The ravens around her are quiet messengers, carrying wisdom gathered through countless generations.

Her staff is both a guide and a symbol of inner strength, reminding us that true courage is found not in resisting change, but in meeting it with an open heart.

For this particular painting, a single strand of the recipient's own hair has been lovingly hidden within the moon of the staff. Though unseen, it becomes part of the artwork itself—a deeply personal thread woven into the story, creating a lasting connection between guardian and soul. A personal talisman.
